Brewginner is a bit of a play on words Brewing / Beginner.
A Little About Me
I got started in homebrewing in the summer of 2018, so yea you could consider me a beginner in this little hobby. Homebrewing is something I’ve been wanting to try my hand at for years after driving past a newer homebrew shop in a small town outside of metro Detroit (which is now closed).
A dozen plus homebrews later (at the time of this writing), and countless hours of research, I still find myself fascinated by this hobby we call homebrewing. Here’s a running list of the beer’s I’ve brewed.
I also happen to work in Information Technology, and like to dabble with technical things on the side. I’ve blogged in the past, and thought this would be an awesome idea to merge two things I enjoy.
A Little About Brewginner
Let’s not kid ourselves. There’s a lot to learn if you are just getting into homebrewing.
Sure you can read the little book that came with your Beginner Homebrew Kit, but that’s just scratching the tip of the iceberg. I remember back to my first brew, trying to sort out what “pitch your yeast” really meant.
So that’s the genesis of Brewginner. Trying to make sense of all this nonsense that a beginning home-brewer knows nothing about. If someone can learn from my mistakes, the things that I’ve learned, and it makes life easier so they can enjoy this hobby – I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.
Now this is where you the reader comes in. If you’ve been brewing beer, we all know there’s more then one way to do something. Just because something works for me, that doesn’t mean there’s a different or better way to do it. I want to hear from you, and I’m sure other readers will as well.
Cheers…
